Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to motivating, supporting, and promoting citizens with creative talents to help them excel in their chosen fields.

Governor Eno made this pledge at his country home in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, during a special Christmas celebration with members of his community. Highlighting the gradual process of attaining success in the creative industry, the Governor emphasized the need for encouragement and pledged to provide platforms for local talents to thrive.

In a significant show of support, Governor Eno publicly endorsed Ikpa Udo, a renowned indigenous music star, stressing the importance of prioritizing and celebrating homegrown talents. He urged citizens to appreciate indigenous artists while supporting international acts, noting that the state remains focused on nurturing its creative industry.

“Our youths are the future, and we are committed to their growth,” the Governor stated. “This commitment is why we created a dedicated Ministry for Youth Development. We must celebrate our own and give them the support they need to excel.”

Since assuming office, Governor Eno has consistently championed the use and promotion of local content at public events, a deliberate effort to boost the creative industry in Akwa Ibom. He also commended his predecessor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, for laying a strong foundation in supporting indigenous talents through initiatives like the ONNA Day celebration, held annually on December 25.

During the Christmas gathering, Governor Eno thanked stakeholders and citizens for their support and announced that the 2025 New Year Service would take place on January 2 at the International Christian Worship Center in Uyo.

The immediate past Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, accompanied by his wife, Martha, lauded Governor Eno for continuing the state’s developmental strides and fulfilling campaign promises.

Other dignitaries at the event, including the Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi; Oku Ibom Ibibio and Paramount Ruler of Nsit Ubium, Ntenyin (Dr.) Solomon Etuk; Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Elder Udeme Otong; and Senator Effiong Bob, commended Governor Eno’s inclusive leadership style and his unwavering support for the youth and other demographics.

The event also featured thrilling performances by indigenous artists like Libra, David Cruz (aka Disasta), and Ikpa Udo, alongside comedy acts and cultural displays, showcasing the richness of Akwa Ibom’s creative talents.

Stakeholders pledged their continued support for Governor Eno’s ARISE Agenda, which serves as the blueprint for the state’s economic and developmental progress.
