“My frequent portrayal of occultic roles almost drew me into a brotherhood, but Jesus saved me!”
Renowned actor Kanayo O Kanayo, known for his exceptional roles in films like Billionaires Club, Nothing for Nothing, Ritualist, and Blood Money, recently opened up about a harrowing experience during his career.
“In my line of work, I brought characters to life, showcasing the dark and sinister ways of the devil purely for entertainment. I never thought it could go beyond the screen,” Kanayo shared.
Recounting the eerie incident, he revealed that in 2005, he returned home and found an unusual envelope in his briefcase. “It was sealed with red linen, which caught my attention immediately. I had no idea how it got there, but curiosity got the better of me, and I opened it,” he said.
Inside, he discovered a cryptic note with a chilling message: ‘YOU KNOW TOO MUCH, JOIN US.’
The actor was gripped by fear. “I panicked, wondering how this note made its way into my belongings and why I was being targeted. On the back of the paper, there was an address instructing me to report to a specific location at a roundabout in Benin.”
Though terrified, Kanayo chose not to share the disturbing discovery with his wife. “I didn’t want to alarm her. You know how women react to shocking news,” he said.
Unable to sleep, he turned to his pastor for guidance. “It was a very odd hour, but I called my pastor because I was restless. He picked up the phone, and as always, he was polite and concerned, knowing I wouldn’t call at such a time unless it was serious.”
After narrating his experience, his pastor gave him a sobering response: ‘You have portrayed the devil’s ways for too long. Now, it’s time to decide where you truly belong.’
Kanayo firmly declared his faith: “I told my pastor, ‘Daddy, I belong to Jesus. I’m just an entertainer trying to provide for my family.’”
The pastor, sensing his distress, reassured him with comforting words: ‘It is well with your soul. Go to sleep.’
Kanayo O Kanayo’s testimony serves as a powerful reminder that despite the challenges and temptations of life, holding onto one’s faith can lead to divine intervention and salvation.
