The member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency and chairman, Public Procurement Committee, Rep. Unyime Idem, has received another award from the House of Representatives Press Corps.
This time, he is bestowed the “Distinguished award for championing the transformation of Procurement System in Nigeria.”
Leading the delegation, the Chairman, House of Representatives Press Corps, Gboyega Onadiran, applauded Rep. Idem for being at the vanguard of reorganizing the public procurement system in the country.
According to Onadiran, “the House of Representatives Press Corps has identified your role in changing the face and narrative of public procurement processes and procedures in the country, and so this award is to encourage you to do more.”
“Ours is to work with you, report your projects, programmes and legislative affairs. Kindly accept our congratulations.”
Receiving the award, Rep. Unyime Idem, thanked the House of Representatives Press Corps for identifying his modest efforts, together with his committee, in transforming Public Procurement system in the country, noting that he is encouraged to do more.
“Our intention is to achieve a Public Procurement system that is effective, transparent and accountable, and one that Nigerians will be proud of.”
Recall that about two years ago, the National Assembly Press Corps bestowed on Rep. Idem an award as the Best Lawmaker and also Apostle of Motions, for being the lawmaker with the highest number of motions, in the 9th National Assembly.
