Otti, Eno Commit to Strengthening Abia-Akwa Ibom Link Roads
In a move to enhance connectivity and foster economic collaboration, the governments of Abia and Akwa Ibom States are partnering to improve vital link roads between the two neighboring states.
This significant development emerged during a recent condolence visit by Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, to Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, following the passing of the Akwa Ibom First Lady, Patience Eno.
During the visit, Governor Otti conveyed heartfelt sympathies on behalf of Abia State’s government and its people. He expressed admiration for the impactful life of the late First Lady, acknowledging the profound loss her passing signifies for Akwa Ibom and the broader nation. In honoring her legacy, Otti urged Governor Eno to continue his people-centered initiatives, promising Abia’s support for projects that would benefit both states.
“We will work collaboratively to fix the roads linking our states for the socioeconomic interest of our citizens,” Governor Otti affirmed.

Turning to infrastructure, Governor Eno assured his commitment to join forces with Abia State in advocating for federal intervention on the Ikot Ekpene-Aba road and addressing the Ini-Arochukwu route, along with other critical areas that serve as economic arteries for both states.
“For the roads you mentioned, if there are opportunities to collaborate as two states, I am sure we are ready to do so. It’s ultimately our people who will benefit from smoother, safer routes between our states,” Governor Eno said.
The partnership signifies a shared commitment to infrastructure that will facilitate smoother transit, bolster trade, and strengthen regional ties for mutual prosperity.
