NSIT ATAI LAWMAKER GETS SECOND TERM ENDORSEMENT FROM AFAHA GROUP OF VILLAGES

The people of Afaha group of Villages in Nsit Atai Local Government Area, have asked the House of Assembly Member representing Nsit Atai, Hon. Prince Aniefiok Attah to seek a second term in office, assuring of their total support.

Speaking through the Group Head of Afaha and Chairman Clan Council of Chiefs, Etebom Mfon Sunday Essien who also doubles as Chairman, Nsit Atai Traditional Rulers Council and Chairman, Supreme Council of Akwa Afaha Worldwide, the delegation which was in the House of Assembly today to appreciate the lawmaker who is the Chairman, House Committee on Justice , Judiciary, Human Rights and Public Petitions, for his role in the recent screening and clearance of nominees for appointment as Commissioners and Special Advisers in the State Executive Council, hailed Hon. Aniefiok Attah for according their daughter, Princess Emem Ibanga the necessary legislative support which aided her successful screening and clearance as Commissioner.

Etebom Essien who expressed delight that the tripod in Nsit Atai has been strengthened following the emergence of an illustrious daughter of Afaha in the person of Lady Emem Ibanga as a Commissioner in the State Executive Council.

He pointed out that with Prince Aniefiok Attah from Ibedu in the State House of Assembly, the Local Government Chairman, Prince Anthony Nyong from Ibiaikot and Lady Emem Ibanga in the State Executive Council, Nsit Atai is now well represented in government, and what is required henceforth is for all to ensure there is unity in the Local Government.

The royal father commended the legislator for pursuing unity in the Nsit Atai. In unison, the delegation voiced their support for a second term mandate on the lawmaker, and sealed their endorsement with prayers.

Responding, the Lawmaker representing,
Prince Aniefiok Attah, appreciated them for acknowledging his efforts in uniting the local government, and assured of his commitment to the unity, progress and development of Nsit Atai.

He expressed happiness with the current balance of power in the area, referring to the “tripod” of House member, Commissioner, and Chairman. He praised the Governor’s efforts in ensuring that Nsit Atai is well-represented in the state government. Attah who described Emem Ibanga as his Sister, again thanked the Governor for appointing her into the State Executive Council, saying as her representative in the House of Assembly, he had to ensure she got the necessary backing and support as his constituent during the screening process and his subsequent clearance.

The Assembly member who chaired the screening exercise, told the delegation that Lady Emem Ibanga met the constitutional requirement for appointment as a Commissioner, hence her clearance.

The Nsit Atai lawmaker particularly commended Governor Umo Eno for the Nsit Atai -Ikot Ubo road project, saying he can now drive very comfortably from Uyo to Nsit Atai without stress He enjoined the Afaha delegation to continue to support the Governor and work towards the betterment of Nsit Atai Local Government Area.

Etim – Village Head of Ikot Obon/Coordinator Conference of Village Heads, Nsit Atai Chapter, Obonganwan Atim Udo Peter – Women Leader, Afaha Ndisiak, Obonganwan Sarah Harrison, Women Leader Afaha Atai, Obonganwan Ekaette Sunday Udo – Women Leader Itak Afaha, and Edemikoh O. Esemikoh – Secretary Afaha Group of villages.
