The people of Nsit Atai, Tuesday gathered at Ikot Akpabio in the local government area to honor their daughter, Princess Emem Ibanga, following her appointment as Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs by Governor Umo Eno.

At a well attended reception ceremony graced by the political class, clergy, royal fathers, party chieftains, elders, women and youths of the area, the stakeholders took turns to eulogize the Commissioner, describing her as a Woman with capacity, saying they were confident in her ability to discharge her assignment effectively.

Speaking on behalf of elders in the Local Government Area, a former Deputy Vice -Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Prof. Trenchiard Ibia, appreciated Governor Umo Eno for finding the former Council Chairman of the area, Princess Ibanga fit for appointment into the State Executive Council, saying her appointment has brought peace to the area and would foster unity and development.

On his part, the House of Assembly Member for Nsit Atai, Hon. Anefiok Attah said Nsit Atai people has every reason to be grateful to Pastor Umo Eno, and urged everyone to close ranks and support the government of the day.
Also speaking, the Village Head of Odot 2 and group head, Afaha group of Villages, Edidem Mfon Sunday, Dean of Personal Aides to the Governor in the area, Reuben ibia, representative of Women, Mrs. Affiong Akpogho and youth leader, Kingsley Eshiet assured that Nsit Atai is solidly behind the Governor and will support the Commissioner to discharge her duties effectively inline with the ARISE Agenda of the State government.

The Commissioner, Princess Emem Ibanga expressed her heartfelt thanks to the people of Nsit Atai and acknowledged the debt of gratitude owed to Governor Pastor Umo Bassey Eno for her appointment. She emphasized that her appointment into the State Executive Council signifies victory for Nsit Atai people.





She pledged to use her office to unite the local government and advance the State government’s development goals, promising that there would be no segregation under her watch.
The Commissioner sued for unity and peace among the people of Nsit Atai, assuring that her appointment will benefit everyone
