โฆ drums support for Gov Umo Eno as party inaugurates ward exco

Torrent of accolades trails the existence popularity of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ikono Local Government Area on Friday 10th January, 2025 as the party inaugurates ward executive, even as many that witnessed the event have continued to pour encomiums on Mr. Edem Obotnya led exco of the party.
Among dignitaries who spoke at the event was the Chairman of Ikono Local Government Area, Engr. Oto-Obong Okon Essien who affirmed that her emergence as the Chairman of Ikono Local Government Area in 2024 proved that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP was on ground in the area.
Speaking further at the country home of the Party Chapter Chairman of Ikono Local Government Area, Mr. Edem Obot Nyah, Engr. Essien used the opportunity to thank the leadership of the party for victory at the just concluded LG polls and advised the new ward executive to maintain loyalty to the leader of the party, Gov Umo Eno, PhD.
According to her, “I thanked the leadership of the party’s structure at the Chapter and Ward here in Ikono Local Government Area, my emergence proves that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP is on ground in Ikono Local Government Area.
“It is God and the Government that exists with sustainable plans for the people, I am happy to be part of this Government under the leadership of a God fearing Governor, Pastor Umo Eno. I am calling on you today to prepare to return him in 2027 as a reward for all the good things he has done for us.
“Do not be double edged, I want to thank you for yesterday as well as tomorrow ahead of 2027 which you will return Pastor Umo Eno for 2027, continue to support his administration A-R-I-S-E Agenda”.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ikono Chapter, Mr. Edem Obotnya in his welcome address called on the newly inaugurated ward executive to abide by the party’s constitution and respect constituted authorities as disloyalty will not be tolerated in the party.
Others who spoke at the well attended meeting were the Member, Representing, Ikono State Constituency in AKHA, Rt. Hon. Asuquo Nana, the Immediate Past Member, Representing Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Iboro Ekanem, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Petroleum Matters and Champion of Ikono Politics, Sir. Victor Etefia, the Chairman Assembly Service Commission, Barr Godwill Umoh, the Immediate Past State Organizing Secretary of PDP, Barr. Moses Akpan,
the Leader of Ikono 8th Legislative Council, Hon. Saviour Ebong.
Present at the meeting were the State Legal Adviser of PDP. Barr. Ekemini Uba, the Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Martins Akpan, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Culture and Tourism, Mrs. Ime Udoh, the State PDP officer, Obongawan Ofonbuk Akpan, the immediate past Transition Committee Chairman of Ikono Local Government Council, Hon. Kingsley Akpan, the Secretary, Ikono Local Government Council, Hon. Edem Umo among other stakeholders and party faithfuls.
