…Urges him to Excel as New Information Commissioner
Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Obong Emem Ekperikpe Ekpo, has congratulated Hon. Aniekan Umanah on his appointment and swearing-in as Commissioner for Information in Akwa Ibom State.
In a statement personally signed by the Minister, he described Umanah’s appointment as a significant blessing to both the state and his home local government, Abak.

He commended Governor Umo Eno for recognizing Umanah’s competence and experience, expressing confidence in his ability to effectively manage the state’s information machinery.
“On behalf of my family and the Ministry of Petroleum Resources (Gas), I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you, Rt. Hon. Aniekan John Umanah, on your appointment as Commissioner for Information by His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno,” the statement read.
“As you take on this new role, I encourage you to collaborate closely with the Governor and other stakeholders to drive socioeconomic growth, enhance public engagement, and promote peace in Akwa Ibom. Your wealth of experience will undoubtedly be a great asset to the state.”
Ekpo further urged Umanah to leverage his expertise in advancing Governor Eno’s vision for the state, particularly in strengthening government communication and ensuring transparency in governance.
He concluded by wishing the new Commissioner wisdom, strength, and success in the discharge of his duties.
