Merilebon Academy Uyo concluded its highly successful summer school program on Thursday, 22nd August, 2024, marking the end of an enriching educational experience for young learners.
From August 5th through the 22nd, students engaged in a diverse array of activities designed to foster both academic growth and personal development.
The summer curriculum was carefully crafted to cater for students across various educational stages. With focus on Academics, there were drills in Mathematics and English tailored for both grade school pupils and high school students, ensuring a strong foundation in core subjects.
Students delved into current affairs and civic education, broadening their understanding of the world around them. Chemistry and science lessons provided hands-on learning opportunities, while tech skills such as word processing and graphic design prepared them for the digital age.
Creative Art flourished with craft sessions, including paper crafts and dye work, alongside music clubs featuring guitar lessons and general skills like shoe polishing, etiquette, and tie knotting to advance their development.
The culmination of the summer school program was celebrated with a delightful Kiddies Kitchen event. The children and staff alike enjoyed baking oil-based vanilla sponge cakes, Queen’s cakes, popcorn, and pancakes.
This engaging finale did not only showcased the pupils/students’ newfound culinary skills but also provided a feel-good ending to their summer learning and growth.
