Ahead of the upcoming local government chairmanship election in Itu, Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. KufreAbasi Edidem, Itu Political Leader, Rt. Hon. Henry Archibong; and PDP Chapter Chairman, Mr. Victor Okon, presented Ubong Wilson Nkutt as the PDP preferred chairmanship candidate to the entire stakeholders. The event took place at the residence of the Deputy Speaker.
In his welcome remarks, the Deputy Speaker thanked His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno for his guidance and directives, which have brought peace to the party. He reiterated that the leader of the People’s Democratic Party, Pastor Eno, after due consultation with critical stakeholders, has endorsed the candidacy of Ubong Wilson Nkutt and emphasized the importance of conveying this information to all aspirants and party faithfuls.
“The choice of Ubong Wilson Nkutt, is a choice that will return Itu to its glory days, a choice that had given hope to party faithfuls without godfather and a choice that has the overwhelming support of the people of Itu,” Edidem stated.
The political leader of Itu, Rt. Hon. Henry Archibong, while addressing stakeholders, emphasized that the presentation of Ubong Wilson Nkutt as the PDP preferred chairmanship candidate signals a strategic move aimed at consolidating support and ensuring a smooth electoral process.
Meanwhile, Hon. Idongesit Ituen, HSA to the Governor on Creative Industry; Mr. Victor Okon, PDP Chapter Chairman; Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Etetim Onuk; and Obongawan Grace Ekong all lauded the sterling qualities of Ubong Wilson Nkutt and expressed satisfaction with his choice as the preferred candidate for the Itu chairmanship position.
Ubong Wilson Nkutt, in his acceptance speech, expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him by the stakeholders and party faithfuls. He pledged to prioritize inclusive governance, development, and the welfare of the people in Itu.
