In a move to fulfill his campaign promises, the Executive Chairman of Itu Local Government Council, Hon. Ubong Wilson Nkutt visited Antai’s Farm at Ikot Ebom Itam, Itu, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. This gesture demonstrates his commitment to boosting agriculture in the region.
During his visit, the Chairman commended the resilience, hard work, and investment initiative of Antia’s Farm CEO, Mr. Aniebiet Antia who took the Chairman on a comprehensive tour of the farm, showcasing the process of planting fresh produce such as tomatoe, cucumber, pepper, and watermelon in Itu.
To support the farm’s efforts, Hon. Nkutt donated fertilizers, reinforcing his dedication to agricultural revolution in Itu.
This initiative which is inline with the agricultural development drive of His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno as encapsulated in his ARISE Agenda where A- represents Agriculture, further highlights the Chairman’s focus on promoting agricultural growth, creating opportunities for farmers, thereby ensuring food security in the Local Government Area. By collaborating with local farmers and providing essential resources, he aims to make Itu a food basket.
By this proactive approach to governance, the people of Itu Local Government Area can expect positive changes in the agricultural sector.
This visit marks the beginning of a fruitful partnership between the local government and farmers, paving the way for a brighter future for the community.
Accompanying the Chairman on this visit were his Chief of Staff, Hon. George Akpan, the Councilor for East Itam III Ward 6, Hon. Richard Mbok, the Youth President of Ikot Ebom Itam, Mr. Umoh Louis Ekanem, among many other officials.
