IKOT-EKPENE CHAIRMAN FLAGS-OFF SKILLS ACQUISITION & ENTREPRENURSHIP TRAINING FOR WARD 9
Transition Committee Chairman for Ikot-Ekpene Local Government Council, Sir. John Cleton Etim has flagged-off the next phase of the Skills acquisition and entreprenurship training in Ward 9.
Flagging off the training which is targeted at ensuring that youths of Ikot-Ekpene have a sustainable means of livelihood, Sir. Etim explained that the programme is inline with the ARISE AGENDA of Governor Umo Eno.
He appreciated the people of Ward for their unalloyed support to Governor Umo Eno’s administration.
Speaking further, the Council Chairman admonished the beneficiaries to take their training seriously and ensure they follow it up till the end.
The programme is jointly sponsored by the Transition Committee Chairman of Ikot Ekpene, his Transition Committee Members and Ikot Ekpene Ward Personal Assistants to the Governor, and it’s aimed at empowering the youths with skills to be self reliant.
During the event, the Transition Member representing Ward Nine, who is the Honourable Supervisor for Transport, Mr. Utomobong Ekanem, sponsored sixteen persons to be trained in any skill of their choice.
Acknowledging the efforts of the Council boss, the Political Leader of Ward Nine, Elder Daniel Obot (Commando) and the Ward Chairman, Mr. Augustine Afangideh, applauded Hon. Cleton for the initiative.
Others who spoke include, former Deputy Leader of Ikot Ekpene Legislative Council, Hon. Unyime Udoudo.
In his goodwill message, the TRC Chairman of Obot Akara Local Government Area, Hon. Anietie Ibritam, applauded his Ikot-Ekpene colleague, Sir. Cleton, for making remarkable impacts, and also uttered words of encouragement and lend support to the beneficiaries.
Highpoint of the event was the reception of defectors from other political parties and presentation of awards to the Council Chairman and the Supervisor representing the Ward.
Also present at the event were the Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Pastor Solomon Essiet, the former Leader of Ikot Ekpene Sixth Assembly, Hon. Daniel Enang and a host of others.
