Herbert Wigwe’s father marks 90th birthday in church

Shyngle, the father of the late Group CEO of Access Holding, Herbert Wigwe, celebrated his 90th birthday with a thanksgiving/celebration service at Redeemed Christian Church of God, Resurrection Parish, on October 8, 2024 in Lekki, Lagos State.

The event which began with choruses gave room for family and friends to deliver their goodwill messages to Shyngle on attaining the milestone age. Associations and groups the birthday boy belongs to also felicitated him.

Speaking at the event, the founder of Stanbic IBTC, Atedo Peterside, noted the importance of longevity, referencing the impact of his parents’ longevity on his life. He said, “Longevity is a blessing. Don’t underestimate what you can still do as a grandparent.”

On his part, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank, Roosevelt Ogbonna, noted that the quality of life was not just about age, but about living a life of impact.

A solemn moment came when respects were paid to the late Herbert by observing a one-minute silence. Afterwards, the sermon was delivered by the Assistant General Overseer in charge of personnel and administration for the RCCG, Johnson Odesola.

A special prayer was then conducted for the birthday boy and his family; Herbert’s youngest sister, Stella Eresia-Eke, gave the vote of thanks.
