GROUP CELEBRATES SSG’S BIRTHDAY WITH PATIENTS AT UUTH

A group of leaders from Ward 7 and 8 of Uyo Local Government Area celebrated the 56th birthday of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prince Enobong Uwah, in a unique and heartwarming way. The team, comprising Governor’s Aides from the wards, Councillors, and immediate past councillors, visited the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH) to show love and care to the patients, particularly those in Postnatal Ward.

During the visit, the team presented cash to all the patients, bringing joy and smiles to their faces. They also took time to interact with the patients, offering words of encouragement and praying for their speedy recovery.

The visit was well-received by the hospital staff, with Director of Administration UUTH, Dr. Joseph Akpan, and Mrs. Jenny Church, Head of Nursing, expressing their appreciation for the group’s kindness. Mrs. Church even described the visit as “the real love.”

The team also made a commitment to help Mrs. Asanga Idorenyin Emmanuel, a patient from Ibiono Ibom who had just delivered triplets and lost her husband two days after the delivery. They promised to clear her medical bills and draw the attention of the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Lady Mrs. Helen Obareki, to her condition.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment Industry, Hon. David Sergeant, highlighted the significance of the visit. He noted that it was a way of celebrating the SSG’s selfless service to the state and his Local Government, and prayed for God’s strength to enable him to do more for the people.
