Governor Umo Eno Dissolves Akwa Ibom State Cabinet to Reshape Development Agenda

In a decisive move to reinvigorate governance and advance Akwa Ibom State’s development agenda, Governor Umo Eno has dissolved his cabinet, including all commissioners and special advisers.

The announcement was made during a valedictory session held at the Executive Council Chamber in Uyo on Friday.

Speaking at the session, Governor Eno commended the outgoing cabinet members for their dedication and contributions, emphasizing that their collective efforts had significantly bolstered the success of the Arise Agenda.

“All of you have delivered, and that’s why the Arise Agenda has succeeded,” the governor stated. “However, as with every journey, we must bring one season to a close and usher in a new one to sustain progress.”

Notably, many of the outgoing commissioners had served in their roles for nearly a decade, with some appointed during the administration of former Governor Udom Emmanuel.

Governor Eno acknowledged their long-standing service, explaining that retaining them at the start of his administration was a deliberate decision to honor their contributions and allow them to complete their tenure.

The dissolution of the cabinet signals the governor’s intention to inject fresh energy and expertise into his administration, paving the way for new strategies to address the state’s developmental priorities.
