In a heartwarming display of compassion and philanthropy, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno, Governor of Akwa Ibom State, presented the ARISE Compassionate Home to a beneficiary, Mrs Comfort Sunday of Atan Offot Village in Uyo Local Government Area. The event was part of the activities marking the birthday anniversary of Prince Enobong Uwah, Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
Representing the Governor at the event, the Executive Assistant and Chief Delivery Advisor to the Governor, Mr. Aniefiok Johnson, lauded the SSG for his remarkable philanthropy and alignment of his foundation’s initiatives with the ARISE Agenda. He encouraged privileged members of society to emulate such acts of kindness, emphasizing that collective efforts could create a multiplier effect in supporting communities and transforming lives.
The fully furnished three-bedroom bungalow was handed over alongside a business support fund of ₦500,000 to a grateful beneficiary. While presenting the keys, Prince Enobong Uwah expressed his profound gratitude to Governor Umo Eno for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the state’s development.
He thanked God for empowering him to impact lives and pledged to continue addressing societal needs through his foundation. He further appreciated the foundation’s team for effectively interpreting and executing his vision, urging them to remain steadfast in identifying and providing solutions to the needs of the people.
Conveying the sentiments of Uyo residents, the Chairman of ALGON and Executive Chairman of Uyo Local Government Area, Dr. Uwemedimo E. Udo, commended the SSG’s generosity and prayed for God’s continued grace upon his life. Similarly, Sir Monday Ebong Ukoh, the immediate past Commissioner for Youths and Sports and close friend of the SSG, expressed delight at the gesture and pledged to support the foundation’s future initiatives.
The event concluded with the cutting of a birthday cake and the ceremonial tape to officially hand over the home. It was graced by members of the political class, traditional leaders, and other distinguished members of the society, underscoring the collective celebration of a life dedicated to service and compassion.
