Fedpoly Ukana Seeks Close Relationship with Police to Enhance Campus Security

In a bid to bolster the safety and security of the Federal Polytechnic, Ukana community, the Acting Rector, QS. Uduak Inyang- Udoh has sought to strengthen the relationship between the institution and the Nigerian Police Force.

This was made known, during a courtesy visit to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Essien Udim Local Government Area, CSP Chairman Dore by the Management team of the Polytechnic at the Ikot Ekpene Divisional Police, Ikot Ekpene LGA.

According to the QS. Inyang- Udoh, the essence of the visit was to foster a collaborative partnership with the Men of the Nigerian Police Force to ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors on campus.

He emphasized that security is paramount in every environment especially an academic environment. He solicited for a closer ties with the police as he believes that with the safety of lives and properties, academic activities can thrive.

In his words ” there is need for strong security on campus ,hence a dire need for close relationship with the Police”.

In response, The DPO, Essien Udim,CSP Chairman Dore commended the Acting Rector and the Management team for prioritizing the security of the Polytechnic community, emphasizing the importance of a strong working relationship between the institution and the police.

He assured the Acting Rector of his commitment to protecting the institution and its members. He pledged to deploy police constabularies to service the Polytechnic environment thereby ensuring police visibility around the Polytechnic community.

Present during the visit were the Acting Registrar, Mr. Jeremiah J. Akpabio,the Acting Bursar,Mr. Michael Akpan and the acting Head of Works,Mr.Imo Okoji.
