The member representing Essien Udim State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Prince Ukpong Akpabio II, today paid last respect to Madam Matha Michael Afangideh, departed wife of the political leader of Essien Udim Local Government Area, Obong Michael Afangideh, an Officer of the Federal Republic, OON.
The funeral mass was held at Christ the King Parish, Odoro Ikot, Essien Udim, where Prince Akpabio described the demise of “Ekamba Mma” aged 90, as painful and a monumental loss.
The lawmaker said Madam Afangideh “will be sorely missed as a caring wife, an exceptional mother, a retired Headmistress and a devout Catholic who served diligently as President, Catholic Women Organisation, CWO and Life Member of the organisation in Ikot Ekpene Diocese as well as pioneer Supervisor in Essien Udim Local Government Caretaker Committee.”
Prince Akpabio prayed God to comfort Obong Afangideh and his family as well as the entire people of Odoro Ikot and grant the soul of the departed nonagenarian eternal rest.
