Member representing Essien Udim State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Prince Ukpong Akpabio II has been paying glowing tributes to late Madam Affiong Akpan Okoro, mother of the outgoing Secretary of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ukana West Ward 2, Miss Mary Akpan Okoro.
Prince Akpabio who was speaking when he paid a condolence visit to the bereaved family in Ukana Ikot Ntuen, Essien Udim Local Government Area of the State, described Madam Okoro as a woman of substance who will be greatly missed.
The lawmaker said the people of Ukana has lost a diligent woman leader and a great soldier of Christ who gave her all in the development of her family, community and the church.
He commiserated with the bereaved family and urged them to take consolation that their mother, wife and sister led an exemplary life leaving behind indelible footprints on the sands of time.
The remains of Madam Okoro will be laid to rest this Friday, 9th August, 2024 after a funeral by The Salvation at the deceased country home, Ukana Ikot Ntuen at the age of 79.
