…ARISE food truck arrives Council Secretariat, Uquo
In continuation of the 2nd phase of ARISE food security program of the Akwa Ibom State, the Akwa Ibom State Bulk Purchase Agency is currently at Uquo, the Council Secretariat.
Vulnerable households from the eleven (11) wards of ESIT EKET LGA are smiling home with staple food items including, bags of rice, beans, and garri in the ongoing distribution exercise.
Addressing the beneficiaries, the Council Chairman, Hon. Mrs. Uduak Ikot, appreciated Governor Umo Eno for launching the ARISE food security program which she noted would go along way in providing succour to the less privileged. She further commended the Governor for including Esit Eket people amongst beneficiaries of the free food distribution.
General Manager of the Akwa Ibom Bulk Purchase Agency, Hon. Unyime Etim said he was in the local government area on the Governor’s instruction to share free food to vulnerable persons in the local government area whose names are captured in the social Register.
The distribution process is being supervised by the agency’s team, led by the General Manager, Hon. Unyime Etim, in collaboration with local government officials, including the Chairman of ESIT EKET LGA, Hon. Mrs. Uduak Ikot, Vice -Chairman of the Council, Rt. Hon. Elder. Eddy Etangkanga, Council Secretary, Comrade Godwin Francis Elijah, alongside Ward PA’s to the Governor and Councilors.
