In the wake of Election Day, billionaire Elon Musk has become a notable figure within President-elect Donald Trump’s inner circle, with sources indicating his increasing involvement in staffing decisions and shaping the future administration.
Since the election, Musk, the world’s richest individual, has reportedly been a consistent presence at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, this was gathered.
Musk appeared in the Trump family’s election night photo, dined with Melania Trump, and spent the weekend golfing with the Trump family.
Musk’s engagement reportedly goes beyond social gatherings, with sources telling News men that he is actively advising Trump on key staffing choices. He was reportedly present for at least two of Trump’s phone calls with foreign leaders.
During a recent call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump even handed the phone to Musk, allowing him to speak directly with Zelenskyy. Sources also noted Musk’s presence during a call with Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Musk’s influence has extended to Trump’s recent appointment decisions. After Trump announced Rep. Elise Stefanik as his pick for U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Musk voiced concerns on his social media platform X, cautioning that Stefanik’s departure from Congress might threaten the GOP’s slim majority in the House. “Elise is fantastic, but it could be risky to lose her from the House right now,” Musk posted.
Additionally, Musk has weighed in on the upcoming Republican Senate leadership race, publicly endorsing Florida Sen. Rick Scott on Sunday. Musk also maintains a close association with Howard Lutnick, who leads Trump’s White House transition team.
Beyond advisory roles, Musk’s impact on Trump’s campaign has been considerable. He supported a vast door-to-door operation, amplified Trump’s social media reach, and launched a $1 million sweepstakes to engage voters in key battleground states, marking his influence as both financial and strategic.
Sources suggest that Musk’s involvement reflects a significant alliance that could shape Trump’s policy and personnel decisions as he prepares for his term.
