🎈The arrival of the food truck from the Akwa Ibom Bulk Purchase Agency (AKBPA) at Ikot Edibon, the Nsit Ubium Council Secretariat, marked the 31st day of food distribution. Since the program’s launch, the AKBPA team, led by its Executive Chairman, Rt. Hon. Dr. Dan Akpan, accompanied by the General Manager, Hon. Unyime Etim, has toured all local government areas in the state to deliver food items to vulnerable individuals.
🎈Each local government area was allocated 5,000 staple food items, including bags of rice, garri, and beans. So far, a total of 155,000 food items have been distributed to beneficiaries listed in the State’s Social Register.
🎈Addressing beneficiaries at the Nsit Ubium Council Secretariat, Rt. Hon. Dr. Dan Akpan emphasized that the food distribution aligns with Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Food Security Program. He urged beneficiaries to remain orderly, noting that only individuals listed in the social register and possessing valid food vouchers would receive the items.
🎈Dr. Akpan, a former Nsit Ubium Council Chairman and ex-member of the House of Assembly and House of Representatives, assured those not captured in the second phase that they would be included in the third phase of the distribution.
🎈In his remarks, the Local Government Chairman of Nsit Ubium, Hon. Alfred Charles, led other council officials and stakeholders to receive the AKBPA team. He praised Governor Umo Eno for fulfilling his promises, highlighting the significant impact of the free food distribution on vulnerable groups. He also conveyed the gratitude of Nsit Ubium’s government and people, pledging continued support and cooperation with the Governor’s administration.
