DAY 17:ARISE FOOD SECURITY TRUCK ARRIVES IBIONO IBOM

…as beneficiaries and stakeholders praise Governor Eno

The ongoing ARISE Free Food Distribution Program by the Akwa Ibom State Government, managed under the Bulk Purchase Agency, yesterday (Thursday) reached its 17th day as the agency’s food truck arrived at the Ibiono Ibom Local Government Secretariat in Okoita, yesterday.

Beneficiaries from the 13 wards in the local government area took turns receiving bags of rice, beans, and garri after presenting their food vouchers for verification.

The General Manager of the Bulk Purchase Agency, Hon. Unyime Etim, conveyed the Governor’s message, stating that the distribution fulfills the Governor’s campaign promises. He added that this food palliative aligns with the administration’s food security agenda.

Hon. Etim described the Governor as a compassionate leader, emphasizing that the food items are intended for vulnerable members of society whose names are listed in the Social Register.

Responding, the Executive Chairman of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Council, Hon. Asuakak Umoh; the House of Assembly Member for Ibiono Ibom State Constituency, Hon. Moses Essien; the SSA to the Governor on Grassroots Mobilization, Mr. Aniefiok Iwaudofia; and the SSA on Trade & Market Matters, Mr. Idorenyin Raphael, who were present to oversee the distribution, commended Governor Umo Eno for keeping his promises.

Beneficiaries, including Mary Tom, Henry Effiong Udo Ekong from Ikot Ekpenyong Ward 10, Rev. John Ekpenyong from Ikot Ekpenyong, Madam Ekaette Asuquo from Ward 2, and Ekaette Okon Samuel, expressed their gratitude to the Governor for providing food to those in need and prayed for blessings on his efforts.
