The Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong says Governor Umo has made a good choice by nominating his constituent, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Umanah as a Commissioner designate.
Speaker Otong who spoke glowingly of Hon. Umanah today when the nominee appeared before the House for screening, appreciated the Governor for his decision to bring his media Consultant on board to serve in his exco.
In his words; “ His Excellency has made a very good choice by bringing him to serve in his exco.
The Speaker who reeled out Umanah’s profile, said “If His Excellency could appoint him to serve as his Media Consultant, i think if he comes to serve as Commissioner, he will do well”.
Speaker Otong, enjoined his colleagues to allow Hon. Umanah to take a bow and leave, a request which received a unanimous voice vote from the Lawmakers. He was then asked to take a bow.
Addressing the House earlier, the nominee from Abak Hon. Aniekan Umanah, who untill his recent nomination as Commissioner designate, served as Media Consultant to the Governor, had appreciated Pastor Umo Eno for nominating him for the Commissionership position, pledging to contribute his quota to the success of the Governor’s ARISE Agenda.
Hon. Umanah a former Commissioner for Information in the State, former House of Representatives Member for Abak/Etim-Ekpo/Ika was until his nomination, the Media Consultant to the Governor. He hails from Abak village in Abak Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
Umanah is happily married to Diamond Lady Maureen Umanah, and the marriage is blessed with 4 children
