The Executive Chairman of Itu Local Government Council, Hon. Ubong Wilson Nkutt, joined His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno, PhD, his colleagues and other dignitaries at Asan Ibibio to celebrate the 44th anniversary of Akwa Esop Imaisong Ibibio. The event, held today, also marked the installation of Obong Pius James Okon as Ntisong IV as well as the send-forth ceremony of Obong (Engr) Essien Ekidem, Ntisong III of the pioneer socio-cultural group of Ibibio land.
Ntisong Ekidem made history by serving the Akwa Esop Imaisong Ibibio for 15 years, the longest tenure of any Ntisong since the organization’s inception. The ceremony highlighted the significance of cultural heritage and the importance of community leadership.
The Itu Council boss has once again demonstrated his commitment to community development and cultural preservation. His presence at the event underscores the importance of the collaboration between government and socio-cultural organizations in promoting the welfare of the people.
