Building Bridges: NIPR Chairman Seeks Collaborative Safety Efforts with Akwa Ibom State Police Commissioner

In preparation for the upcoming Public Relations Week, tagged “Uyo 2025,” the Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Elder Manasseh Umoette, led members of his executive on a courtesy visit to the State Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi.

The meeting, held on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the Police Headquarters in Ikot Akpan-Abia, focused on strengthening security arrangements for the NPRWeek event, scheduled for May 19โ€“24, 2025, in Akwa Ibom State.

In his remarks, Elder Umoette emphasized the importance of safety for attendees, including public relations practitioners and thought leaders from across Nigeria.

He sought the police force’s support in ensuring a secure environment throughout the week-long event.

Commending CP Azare for his leadership and dedication to law enforcement, Elder Umoette said, “Your exceptional leadership and strategic expertise make you a pillar of security in Akwa Ibom State. We are confident that under your guidance, the police will continue to uphold excellence.”

He also expressed deep appreciation for the sacrifices of the State Police Force in safeguarding lives and property, stating, “You are the true heroes of our society, demonstrating courage, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to duty. We salute your service.”

Emphasizing the need for stronger communication between the police and the public, Elder Umoette highlighted the role of trust and mutual respect in fostering effective security partnerships.

He reaffirmed Institute’s readiness to collaborate with the police in enhancing communication strategies.

Responding, CP Azare expressed gratitude for NIPR’s recognition of the police force’s efforts and assured his full support for the 2025 NPRWeek.

He pledged that the police would work closely with NIPR to ensure the safety of all participants.

The NIPR visit to the State Police Command marked a significant step in strengthening relations between public relations professionals and law enforcement, and also layed the foundation for a well-coordinated and secure event in May 2025.
