Aniekeme Finbarr, the Managing Director of Finbarr Consults Limited and former Special Assistant to Akwa Ibom Governors Udom Emmanuel and Umo Eno, set the stage ablaze at the Gathering of Stars 2025 conference held at Full Life Christian Centre, Uyo
The Success and Business School themed “Discerning God’s Vision: Identifying Good Business Ideas,” saw Finbarr deliver a powerful session that left attendees inspired and equipped to tackle the challenges of entrepreneurship.
Finbarr, known for his sharp business acumen and deep-rooted faith, shared practical insights on how to identify and nurture business ideas that align with God’s purpose. Drawing from his wealth of experience, he emphasized the importance of observing everyday problems, leveraging technology, and focusing on underserved markets.
“Look around you,” Finbarr urged. “The problems you see are opportunities waiting to be solved.” He cited the success of ride-hailing services like Bolt and Uber which emerged as solutions to Lagos’ chaotic traffic, and fintech giants like Opay that has transformed financial services for millions of Nigerians.
Finbarr also highlighted the importance of adapting global ideas to local contexts. “What works abroad can work here too, but you must tailor it to suit our unique environment,” he said,
Addressing the challenges Nigerian entrepreneurs face, Finbarr didn’t shy away from the harsh realities. “Funding is a major hurdle, but it’s not insurmountable,” he said, urging entrepreneurs to explore grants, angel investors, and crowdfunding. He also advised leveraging technology to overcome infrastructure challenges and standing out in a crowded market by focusing on quality and innovation.
Finbarr’s session was a hit with attendees, many of whom described it as “eye-opening” and “practical.” One participant, a young entrepreneur, Oluebube Cherish said, “His examples were so relatable, and his advice was actionable. I feel more confident about pursuing my business idea.”
