In the early hours of today, Tuesday, a devastating fire outbreak occurred at the Auto Spare Parts Market, Nnewi, popularly known as Afia Mgbede.
The inferno, which started in the dead of the night, razed down goods estimated to be worth millions of Naira.
Eyewitnesses reported that despite the scale of the fire, no fire service was on the ground to combat the blaze, leaving traders and residents to watch helplessly as the flames consumed shops and merchandise.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but affected traders have called on the authorities for immediate intervention and support.
