…as Council Chairman emphasizes importance of unity
The Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area Prayer Summit, themed “The Lord is Our Shield” (Psalms 3:3), took place on January 13, 2025, at the Ikot Ekpene Town Hall. The event brought together citizens, government officials, and clergy to promote unity and development in the area.
Chairman Hon. Aniefiok Nkom emphasized the importance of oneness, urging citizens to shun divisive attitudes and work towards collective progress. He advised the people to imbibe the spirit of unity and togetherness for the development of the entire local government area.
Bishop Camilus Umoh delivered a powerful homily, stressing the need for forgiveness, peace, and unity. He encouraged the people to chart the path of peace to achieve the development stride needed for the area.
The clergy lauded Chairman Nkom for instituting the monthly prayer meeting, which has drawn people together and kept them informed about government affairs. The prayer summit has become a platform for the people to pray for the progress and development of the area.
Chairman Nkom assured the people of Ikot Ekpene that God is ready to renew and restore the glory of the area. He prayed for the safety and protection of staff of the local government council and for the fulfillment of the administration’s dreams.
The monthly prayer summit was attended by top government officials and dignitaries, including the Wife of the Chairman, Mrs. Affiong Nkom; Political Leader of Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, Senator Emmanuel Ibokessien; and State House Member, Hon Jerry Otu.
The event featured prayers for God’s protection, guidance, and fulfillment of the administration’s dreams. The people of Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area are optimistic that the prayer summit will continue to promote unity and development in the area.
