Five Nigerians Arrested in the Philippines for Alleged Kidnapping of Compatriot

In a joint operation on Thursday, Philippine authorities arrested five Nigerians in Angeles City, Pampanga, for allegedly kidnapping a fellow Nigerian. The suspects  Evans Enwwereaku Chinemerem, David Chidera Ibegbulamo, Nwokeke Christian Ihechukwu, Nwokeke Cajothan Chinemmerem, and Okonkwo Emmanuel Kosiso – now face criminal charges, including kidnapping for ransom and violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (Republic Act 10591).

The Central Luzon Police, led by Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, reported that the arrests occurred around 5 a.m. at the suspects’ hideout in Barangay Malabanias. Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group operatives, with support from Mabalacat City and Angeles City police, coordinated the operation based on intelligence from the Anti-Kidnapping Group. Authorities allege that the group kidnapped Kingsley Chukwuemeka Ikeagwuana, a Nigerian student in Paranaque City, and held him for ransom.

Maranan emphasized the operation’s success as a warning against criminal activities, noting that three firearms, including two .45 caliber pistols and a .38 caliber revolver, along with ammunition, were seized from the suspects.

  1. Can you imagine. Why would you kidnap your fellow Nigerian for Ranson in a foreign country. Instead of going out to go work, you are not turning your fellow Nigerians into the hustle. Let them rot in jail.
Nigerians always looking for the easy way out.
