Turkish Football Federation has set up a panel to try Bright Osayi-Samuel and some other players and officials involved in a post-match brawl
Super Eagles wingback Bright Osayi-Samuel is set to face disciplinary action in Turkey for his role in a post-match brawl with Trabzonspor fans.
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) made the announcement on Monday, April 1st, stating that Osayi-Samuel, alongside two other Fenerbahce players, will face a panel.
Recall that a post-match brawl took place on March 17th after Fenerbahce came from behind to secure all three points in a 3-2 victory against Trabzonspor in a fiery Super Lig match.
Following the defeat, Trabzonspor’s supporters stormed the pitch at the final whistle, targeting Fenerbahce players and staff for celebrating their win.
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has charged 26-year-old Bright Osayi-Samuel, for his role in the fights that ensured post-match.
The two other players charged are Turkish goalkeeper İrfan Can Eğribayat and Fenerbahce defender Jayden Oosterwolde for what the TFF described as ‘unsportsmanlike behaviour.’
The TFF will hold a disciplinary hearing to determine the extent of punishment for the players involved, as well as any potential sanctions for Trabzonspor as a club.
