UBONG NKUT: A BEACON OF PURPOSEFUL LEADERSHIP

Leadership is often seen as a choice, a journey shaped by determination and deliberate actions rather than mere circumstance. Ubong Nkut stands as a prime example of this notion, showcasing that greatness is achieved through intention and commitment, not luck.

Nkut’s journey in politics and public service reflects a steady rise built on hard work, resilience, and vision. He has consistently demonstrated that genuine leadership stems from a deep understanding of the needs of the people and a drive to address those needs.

Hailing from Ikot Uso Akpan Itam in Itu Local Government Area, Nkut’s story is one of progression fueled by purpose. From his early education at St. James African School, Okopedi Itiam, through his time at Community Secondary School, Offot Usung Ifiayong, to his academic pursuits at the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, where he earned diploma in Marketing, Nkut has always exhibited a strong commitment to excellence. His academic journey further took him to the University of Uyo, where he secured a Master’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration. Alongside, he completed several specialized courses that equipped him for the diverse leadership roles he now holds.

Professionally, Nkut has worn multiple hats in both the public and private sectors. His early career began with supervisory roles in waste management during his NYSC in Cross River State, eventually expanding into sales and marketing roles with EXCO Nig. Ltd in Lagos and AEC Works in Akwa Ibom. Later, he ventured into entrepreneurship with his own business focusing on environmental services and construction material logistics, showcasing his versatility and business acumen.

In politics, he is growing exponentially  through God’s favour. His entry into the Akwa Ibom State  Local government as a personal assistant paved the way for greater responsibilities. In 2020, Governor Udom Emmanuel recognized his capabilities and appointed him as Special Assistant on Project Monitoring, solidifying his presence in state politics. His impact became more evident in youth mobilization, especially when he served as Deputy Director of Youth Mobilization for Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District.

Further solidifying his influence, Governor Umo Eno appointed him as Special Assistant on Youth Mobilization for Itu Federal Constituency in 2023. Nkut’s capacity to rally young people, inspire collective action, and foster unity within the community has been a key part of his political journey.

Today, as the PDP’s candidate for the Itu Local Government Chairmanship in the upcoming October 2024 elections, Nkut embodies a fresh wave of leadership. His ability to unite diverse voices and focus on the well-being of his community has earned him the trust and excitement of Itu’s residents, particularly the youth. Nkut’s leadership style marked by his humility, accessibility, and focus on development promises a bright future for Itu Local Government.

Ubong Nkut’s story reminds us that true leadership is not a gift of circumstance but the result of conscious, purposeful effort aimed at improving the lives of others. As he continues on this path, Nkut remains a figure of inspiration for many, and his rise is a testament to the power of dedication, vision, and service.

Today September 12, 2024 His Excellency Governor Umo Eno presented him the  PDP flag at the official launch of campaigns for the 2024 Local Government elections as the Championship Candidate for Itu Local Government Council. I strongly believe that Mr Ubong Nkut will make the people of Itu proud.

Congratulations in advance to Mr Ubong Nkut.
