… amidst pomp, torrents of goodwill messages, thrills across Ikono 12 political wards

It was an outpour of goodwill messages amidst pomp, thrills and glamour on Tuesday 6th August, 2024 as the Chairmanship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ikono Local Government Area, Engr. Oto-Obong Essien paid an unscheduled visits to the aged members of the society across the twelve political wards of Ikono Local Government Area to mark her 2024 birthday anniversary.
Addressing the Paramount Ruler of Ikono Local Government Area, Edidem Etim Itang during the visit at the Paramount Ruler’s palace in Itak Village, the Ikono Council Chairlady hopeful, Engr. Oto-Obong Essien said the visit was in keeping with her age-long tradition of celebrating her birthday with gift items and supports for the upkeep of the less-privileged, elderly in appreciation and thanksgiving for God’s mercies in her life and promised to expand more with her salary savings by next year to include an extensive one week free medical outreach for the people of Ikono Local Government Area.
Speaking further, Hon. Oto-Obong Essien who was a lawmaker in Ikono Legislative Council promised the royal father of her preparation to do more for Ikono people through her wealth of experience and philanthropism emulating from what the God-fearing Governor of Akwa Ibom State Pastor Umo Eno in doing in line with his government A-R-I-S-E Agenda as well.
Responding, the Ikono Monarch, Edidem Etim Itang welcomed the PDP Chairmanship Candidate, Engr. Oto-Obong with his royal blessings and express appreciation on the gesture to give back to the society during her birthday anniversary.
The event which took place at the three political zones of the area, Ediene Itak, Ikono South and Ikono Middle had in attendance hundreds of the aged members of the society who benefited from the free medical checkup and gift items.
In his Goodwill message, the Chairman Nkwot Leadership Council, Evangelist Albert Inyang and Wife Mrs. Mary Inyang while wishing the celebrator many fruitful years of God’s divine protection expressed joy over the gesture of the chairmanship candidate of their party.
Evang. Albert Inyang who is popularly known as Bertola in his message made available through the Public Relation Officer of Nkwot Leadership Council, Mr. Emmanuel Ufon used the opportunity thanked the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno and Ikono Political stakeholders for giving Engr. Oto-Obong Essien the privilege to fly the party flag as the Chairmanship Candidate of the PDP, affirming she will use her wealth of experience to give Ikono people the best impactful leadership.
