…as Minister of Niger Delta Affairs visits construction site

…assures community of govt’s readiness to fund the project

…contractor assures of quality & timely job delivery

Nigeria ‘s Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, Engr. Abubakar Momoh has assured the people of Ukana ikot Akpabin in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State of the government’s readiness to fund the construction of the phase 1 Ukana Ikot Offok, Ikot Akpabin to Urua Ette Road project.

The Minister made this known today during an unscheduled visit to the project site. He commended the contractor for taking advantage of weather by mobilizing to site with a view of ensuring timely completion of the project before the heavy rains set it.

The Honorable Minister who was represented by his Special Assistant on Projects, Engr. ALuyah Daudau, urged the community to maintain peace while the project goes on, and to accord the contractor the never support to enable him deliver on schedule, hinting tha more projects have been allocated to the three communities by the Federal government.

Engr. ALuyah, specially commended the Village Heads of the three benefitting community for his warm reception, highlighting the need to protect government projects in their communities from vandals.

Speaking earlier, the Village head of Ikot Akpabin group of villages, Obong Samuel Udoidung conveyed the heartfelt appreciation of his colleagues and subjects to the Minister, the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and the Federal government from remembering their communities, while assuring the contractor and his team of a harmonious and peaceful environment.

Obong Udoidung who lamented the plight faced by the people of the community as a result of the deplorable condition of the road, coupled with the flood menace, expressed excitement that hope has come at last with the commencement of work on the phase 1 of the project, and pleaded the Minister for Niger Delta Affairs to facilitate the second phase of the project so that their joy would be fully complete.

Also speaking the community liaison officer, CLO, for the project Comrade Hon. Akan George expressed satisfaction with the project, and commended the Contracting firm, Excess Power Limited for their cooperation and support to the youths of the area by engaging them in the project.

Excess Power Limited, has to it’s credit a track record of quality job delivery in Road construction, ecological projects, drainage system control as well bridge construction, and has handled several projects across Nigeria.
